Skyrim Comes, Social Life Goes

As many of you gamers know (I would hope) Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be hitting shelves tomorrow. What does this mean for you, and most importantly, me? That bit of social life that I have outside of work will fade away.

Uncharted 3 was sucking up most of my time this past week and a half, but I fear my gaming time will double after tomorrow -- you can thank the endless amount of content packed into the game...literally.

Wish me luck in my dragon slaying (man, that really makes me sound like a massive loser) adventures, for I do not see me leaving my PS3 in the next month or so...except for work, of course.

Modern Warfare 3 Trailer Takes You From Noob To Vet, No Screaming Kids

The Call of Duty series may be going stale, but Activision/Infinity Ward/Treyarch/Sledghammer Games (it's beginning to look like a clusterf*** with all of these damn studios working on separate COD titles) know how to market their product.

We typically get guns, explosions, important men wearing cool sunglasses, and the occasional ice cream truck driver (around 0:52) during a COD ad. Pretty easy rinse and repeat formula, but these games somehow continue to sell.

With the new live action trailer released yesterday, we see Sam Worthington show Jonah Hill what it will take to become a veteran in MW3 (not much skill involved here); and we even get a nice surprise guest at the end (HINT).

Jokes aside, this trailer is quite enjoyable...I'm still not going to be buying MW3, though. Head past the jump for your lesson.

Blame Uncharted 3 For My Lack Of Posting

Yep, you are seeing that correctly. My last post was on Monday, October 31st. The reason being...Uncharted 3! It is consuming my post-work life right now, and I am not ashamed one bit.

I will give you my thoughts on the single player (and ask for yours) when I am finished, but do not expect to see much action here in the mean time -- no one is reading my blog any ways, it's still in its infancy stages.

A quick recommendation before I go: BUY UNCHARTED 3!! Or buy a Playstation 3 if you do not own one, and get Uncharted 3 with it.

Battlefield 3: Give Me Your Thoughts

As you may have heard by now, Battlefield 3 has shipped 10 million units. It shouldn't really come as much of a surprise, considering all of the hype and money EA put into the marketing campaign. Will all of these copies be sold? Over time, probably.

I finished the single-player the other night. Nothing to write home about, though not near as bad as some reviewers have said. Yes, the story was a bit of a mess, and the missions were much more linear than Bad Company 1 & 2, but it still felt more satisfying than anything I have played with the Call of Duty series...well, except the first Modern Warfare -- still my favorite FPS to date.

Who really cares about the single-player, though? If you knew anything about BF3 going in, you knew the primary focus is the multiplayer. This is where all of the meat, potatoes, and gravy (cheap idiom, I know) lie.

Only putting a few hours with the multiplayer does not give me much say right now. However, one thing that is very clear: BF3's finished product is MUCH better than what the open beta showed. I have not experienced any of the glitches I stumbled upon in the beta, the animations look better, and the weapons feel more satisfying. Oh, one other thing, the maps are a blast.

One thing I have not experienced is the connection issues that people have been complaining about. Have you been having troubles connecting, or staying connected with matches? Also, let me know in the poll after the jump how you rate the game so far!

Live Action Skyrim Trailer Leaves Me Wanting More!

No doubt about it, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim wait is starting to set in. There is only about a week and a half until its release (11/11/11...what a date), but anticipation is eating at me.

Let's forget about that, though. You want to see the new live action trailer, right? Of course you do, you wouldn't be here if you didn't. Video game movies usually suck, but...miracles do happen. After watching this (albeit, it is only a minute long), a movie could work.

Head past the jump for some glorious fire-breathing action.
